Applications are invited for the above post due to expansion of programme. Applicants must possess or be close to finishing their Doctorate degree. Evidence of scholarly achievement through research publications is expected. Possible start dates: April 1999, September 1999, April 2000.

Salary and benefits will be established according to qualifications, experience and the level of appointment offered. Return airfare and a moving allowance is provided.

The initial contract of employment is generally for a minimum period of two years (two and a half years in the case of a September start date). Thereafter the contract is renewable annually by mutual agreement.

Faculty normally teach seven 90 minute periods per week, Monday to Friday.

The Department places emphasis on communication rather than linguistics. Preferably applicants should have experience of teaching English as a foreign language and ability to teach content courses in any communication related field. Duties will include teaching basic courses, computer application skills and communication skills. Academic qualifications: minimum Master's degree, preferably doctoral degree or equivalent. Candidates with a background in Liberal Arts subjects or Asian Studies willing to teach in the Department of English Communication will also be considered. Competence in Japanese desirable. Salary and rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.
