<x-flowed ISO-2022-JP>It was very good to see you all last night.
Thanks to all, especially Fred Uleman, Doreen Simmons, John McCreery and John Campbell for taking steps to make a smooth transition, and thanks once again to Carl Freire for taking care of SHAKI right up to its very congenial closing.

Also, how about if Carl or Tony puts an item on forum and SSJ-
forum (probably not H-Japan, but maybe the translation group),  saying rest in peace Shakai (and maybe mentioning DFS?), and  noting that former Shakai members interested in getting together  in Tokyo can send their name in to be included on the list.  Would  that be a good idea?  I suspect we are missing alumni it would be  nice to have.

That's a very good idea--I'll send something to NBR, SSJ, and  Honyaku later today.

Thank you, Carl.
If you would be so kind, please:
1) note that SHAKAI as an ISSHO project is closing down after about 6 and a half years (we launched it in August, 2000, as I recall - good hunk of everyone's life, no?). If possible please note this URL http://mailman.gol.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/issho-en for ISSHO, as the website proper at http://issho.org is still in renewal.
2) note that some of the members of the SHAKAI project are planning to convene/communicate after closing, and give a contact address.

-------

Last night a couple of people asked me about ISSHO activities.
ISSHO Kikaku's website is still in renewal; a new interface should appear very soon.
Tending to a new baby boy is keeping the webmaster busier than he had expected.

ISSHO continues to maintain a mailing list called ISSHO-EN
(http://mailman.gol.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/issho-en) which is:
"a forum for considered discussion regarding human diversity and related issues, including but not limited to those which concern Japan and the rest of East Asia."
Everyone interested is welcome there.

Stay warm and healthy during the holiday season.
Very Best Wishes to all for 2007.
