To whom it may concern:
The Institute of Language and Culture Studies, Hokkaido University invites
application for a non-tenure, full-time lecturer in English as a foreign
language, beginning in April, 1999. Applicants must be native speaker of
English and should be 33 or under at the date of employment, and are expected
to have a major interest as well as some experience in TEFL. Duties will
include teaching English to undergraduates (first-year and second-year students)
as well as organizing and conducting classes in general purpose English and/or
ESP at the Institute of Language and Culture Studies.
Minimum Qualifications: M.A. or a higher degree in applied linguistics, linguistics,
communication, English/American literature, or cultural studies
Appointment: The initial period is two years. It may thereafter be extended on a
yearly basis up to five years.
Annual Salary: \6,500,000 〜 \7,850,000, depending on age, experience, number of
family members, etc.; moving and travel expenses will be reimbursed after arrival.
Duties:
1. two 15-week semesters per year
2. Teaching duties will not exceed 14 hours per week.
3. Assist teaching faculty with research and materials development
